The usages of prepositions "for" and "to" are very confusing. For example: 'I have a gift for you' and 'please sent that to me'

It's hard to understand the British when they speak quickly.

באנגלית בריטית אומרים "bottle of water" (בּוֹטֶל אוֹף ווֹטֶר). יש להם גם נטייה להגות את ה-"t" בצורה ברורה יותר מאשר באנגלית אמריקאית. זה יכול להישמע כמו "bot-tle of wa-ter". יש לך עניין מיוחד במבטא בריטי? 😊

One of the things that annoys me in the English language is inconsistent spelling – meaning, a word is written one way but pronounced differently.

For example:

"Through", "Though", "Tough", "Thought" – all have a similar ending, but are pronounced completely differently! - Helen

sound of the letters ow

know / cow

I hate it when there is no rule to know how to pronounce it !

Limor

silent letter at a word such as gh at night

avigail

Same words with two or more meanings such as the word :

Adding s in plurals and adding s in the present simple its confusing

The exceptions like the endings with s for plurals.

Also slang and idioms as it takes culture to really understand them

Double letters!

Why do we need them if there is no change in pronunciation? The words are already too long and too complicated to read.

the fact that we have so many words in english with such a simple meaning like the word: on - מעל But when we see in other combinations like count "on me" - "On sunday..." " going on a trip...." that the meaning is different.

super difficult to explain that differences to the students.

English is IMPOSSIBLE because its spelling makes no sense.

past tense for example: irregular verbs have no pattern or rules. For example:

go - went

do - did

spelling!!!

ough in the middle/end of a word

הגייה שונה מכתיבה – באנגלית המון מילים לא נקראות כמו שהן נכתבות. למשל, though, through, tough נראות דומות אבל נשמעות שונה לגמרי. בעברית כמעט תמיד קוראים כמו שכותבים

English is impossible because it has so many exceptions .

the use of prepositions like on a bus in a car

Too too too too many reading rules

THe hardest words to pronounce are the most important words to use. Like the word word

English is impossible because
