Even before the academic aspect, some children are unable to sit, some are unable to write, and some disorders disturb the whole class. What do we do?



concerns: 9th graders. A Special Ed class in a regular school. 14 kids in a class ... diversity of difficulties ... one teacher in class... at least 7 different English levels...some are Non-Readers.They have no motivation anymore...

Evaluation of kids in special education classes - English being a second language . Should they be evaluated with accommodations as mother tongue- it’s much harder for them.
Kids with memory disorders- should they be evaluated as all kids in a regular classes ?
If they all the time feel they are failing it will eventually affect them wanting to learn English.

A kid that gets A+ on all the material, whereas a kid who has half the material gets that same A+

Principals are concerned with good achievements and expect miracles. They put pressure on teachers who put pressure on students.
How do we navigate in this situation?

Success - when they come in with a hug and love to study English.
Concern: kids of lower abilities and I can't see any advancement throughout the school year, and that's after my long and hard work to sit with them, speak with their parents.. etc

success: seeing a weak student accomplish something new. their, their parents and my hard work.
Concern: assessments, how to help unmotivated students

Is it ok to teach a DIFFERENT coursebook than the whole class? can tests be different as well.

Success: getting them interested and focused
Concern: 6 kids with various levels of autism. I definitely need more graded activity ideas for meetings with them.

A 4th grade girl with dyslexia who still can't read in Hebrew, but I have great cooperation from both her and her parents, and I know it will be excellent. We are working extensively on vocabulary and listening comprehension.
What can we do with a student who has behavioral issues and is constantly suspended from English lessons? He is a differential student
