The most complicated part in negotiation process for me is a bargaining. I find it difficult because it is not my cup of tea. Generally I prefer gather information about person or company. But bargaining process always confuses me.

This is complex process for in an interview or some project activities as well as in real life. In my opinion you can't be prepared to bargain due to a lack of information about what your negotiating partner is thinking. It difficult to forecast what will be proposed during negotiation. I envy those who have good bargaining skills because it is one of the most important and most energy-consuming skill in negotiations.

It IS difficult ... [don't skip 'to be']

Well done, Alex! Totally agree with you!

Negotiation is an important component of the business practices and also in our life. Firstly we should prepare for it, identify our BATNA. Clarify all points that we have, make some proposals with the other side. Trying to avoid conflicts and conclude the negotiation.

Good point, Nastassia! Everything sounds reasonable!)

I believe that resolving areas of conflict is the most challenging aspect of negotiations. Despite the extensive preparation and bargaining, unexpected points may arise, making it difficult to generate additional options. You have to put in a lot of effort to find a solution.

Totally true. Well done, Aleksandr!

Aleksandra

For me the most complicated stage in negotiation process is resolving any areas of conflict.

You need to be extremely creative and provide your partner with solutions in order to reach agreement.

Sometimes it can be very difficult to come to a solution if there is a sticking point and no one is going to trade concessions. Especially if your negotiations partner insist on something. In such situation generating further options and ideas can be very energy-consuming.

You can say 'the opponent' instead of 'the negotiation partner'

Your partner insistS [don't skip 's']

Totally agree with you. Good job, Aleksandra!)

For me the most complicated stage in the negotiations is the "Build rapport". It is connected to the fact that the only half of success at this stage depends on me. I could try to find things in common or to establish friendly relationships with partner, but if he is out of sorts or is not interested in the personal communication creating, all my efforts will be wasted. I prefer to be as prepared as possible and do not like surprises, especial negative. But at this stage the success is never guaranteed no matter my efforts to create comfortable atmosphere.

... I don't like surprises especially the negative ONES.

... no matter how many efforts I put to create ... [better to rephrase] or 'despite my efforts ...'

Overall, good job, Tatsiana!)

As for me the most difficult stage in the negotiation is bargaining. Because you can't prepare for it in advance. You must understand and know all information about your issue. And of course, despite some disagreements stay polite, friendly and have "cold mind".

Well done, Alena! Totally agree with you.)

Write 5-10 sentences describing the stages in the negotiation which you find the most complicated. Give reasons. Write your name on a sticky note.
