Lions have many smell glands (жлези) on their cheeks, lips, forehead, chin, tail and even between their toes. A lion's scent communicates with other lions where they have been and how long ago. They also use scent to attract a mate.

Rabbits are considered quiet pets, but don’t be fooled. Rabbits communicate with each other, and their owners, all the time. They don’t need to make loud noises to convey their message. There are verbal communications that all rabbits understand. Grunting means, “leave me alone,” and honking is a mating call. Rabbits also communicate using their bodies. Rabbits live by a strict code of hierarchy, and grooming plays a key role in this.

When a rabbit strikes the ground with its hind leg, it can make a surprisingly loud noise. This is how rabbits thell other rabbits about danger, and sometimes this is a sign that they are bored. Interpretation: "I'm scared and nervous" or "I'm annoyed with you".

When a bunny licks you, it means that it shows its love. Interpretation: "I like you."

Wolves use three different languages to communicate with each other.

The first way is with sounds. They howl, bark, whimper and growl.

The second way is with special scents, like scats, urine and pheromons.

And the third way is by body language. That means by body positions, movements and facial expressions. For example they stick their ears straight up and bare their teeth when they are angry.

Flamingo sounds are different - from nasal honking to growling. Flamingos are generally very noisy birds. Flamingos have different voices.

Their sounds play an important role in staying together as well as in the birds' rituals. Flamingos use specific calls to communiucate with each other. Vocalizations are used in parent-chick recognition.

Cats are amazing animals. They are cute and fun.

A house cat's genom is 95.6% tiger and they share many behaviors with their jungle relatives. These behaviors include marking with smell, scratching, prey play, urine marking, etc.

Cats are believed to be the only mamals who don't taste sweetness. Cats are supposed to have 18 toes.

How do cats communicate?

Meowing is one of the rare forms of communication.

Cats can purr when they are injured, nervous, or hungry.

Dilated pupils are results from a rush of adrenaline, indicating that your cat is feeling defensive.

The position of a cat’s ears indicates a wide variety of emotional states.

Thank you for your attention.

Animals communicate with each other in different ways. They use their eyes and ears. They touch others or use their sense of smell.

We did some research on how animals send messages and communicate with each other. If you are curious to learn that, please take some time to read the info on our sticky notes. :)
