Main target of the political discourse is to influence people's opinion and attitudes. To do so, politics use various speech patterns and extralinguistc techniques. One of the most popular speech pattern used in political discourse is metaphor. It helps to convey the thought more thoroughly and to create neccessary connotation. E.g. if the author wants to show the attitude of his political party towards other country or union, he could use some anthropomorphic metaphors like Germany shivers or War Coalition shrunk and so on.

One of the most used sources of precedent phenomena is religion. Both English and Russian speaking singers use names, prayers, texts and situations taken from this or that religion in order to create a textual world within a song.
In the songs that we study, such precedent situation as the crucifixion of Jesus is used in a lot of ways: sometimes Jesus is compared to a soldier who also wants to save people and thus sacrifices himself, sometimes the crucifix itself is depicted in a textual world as a symbol of sufferings and pain that are an integral part of our lives, sometimes singers use stories about other people who were crucified (e.g. Andrew the Apostle) to say that we should be strong in spirit and do the right thing even if we think that everything is against us.
A mini case study
Within the classification of the precedent phenomena, precedent name is the one type that is used more frequently than three other types for constructing deep and meaningful world models. It happens so because precedent name is unique in its nature and differs from precedent statements, texts and situations in such a way that it can contain information not only about the name itself, but also about precedent texts, statements and situations, while three other types cannot.
