Guns found hidden in oversized teddy bear during Pennsylvania man's arrest
ALLEGHENY COUNTY, Pa. —
Two guns were found hidden in an oversized teddy bear at the Pennsylvania home of a man facing several bench warrants.
Authorities say 27-year-old Terry Purdue has a history of gun and drug charges dating back to 2018. In March, multiple bench warrants were issued against Purdue, including three involving probation violation.
On Tuesday, detectives searched for Purdue at his in McKees Rocks, outside Pittsburgh. Authorities say when they knocked, they saw someone look out a second-floor window. Shortly after, officials say Purdue opened the door and was taken into custody.
A sweep was done inside the home, including in an upstairs bedroom. According to officials, they moved an oversized teddy bear inside the room and felt something hard inside of it.
Officials originally moved the stuffed bear to check if someone was hiding underneath it, but instead found two guns, one of which had been reported stolen.
Authorities say they seized suspected heroin and marijuana.

Tornadoes, floods threaten Midwest for consecutive days as storms wallop the region and the South
Tornadoes and violent storms struck parts of the South and Midwest on Wednesday, knocking down power lines and trees, ripping roofs off homes and shooting debris thousands of feet into the air as a swath of severe weather hit the region.
The National Weather Service issued a tornado emergency, the most severe type of warning that exists, in Lake City, Arkansas — meaning there was a large tornado on the ground causing damage in a populated city.
The agency has received at least 11 tornado reports by Wednesday evening, with nine of them across Missouri and two in Arkansas. Eastern Arkansas, southern Illinois, southern Indiana, western Kentucky, southeast Missouri, northern Mississippi and western Tennessee are all under a particularly dangerous situation: tornado watch through midnight CT.

Trump Announces 25% Tariff On Talking Cars
In a stunning escalation of his ongoing automotive trade war, President Donald Trump announced Friday that he was imposing a 25% tariff on foreign-made cars that talk, make wisecracks, and have real emotions just like people. “For too long, the American market for cars that not only talk but have a personality all their own has been flooded with imports,” Trump said in a fiery address, stating that U.S. manufacturers of sentient, anthropomorphized cars that flap their hoods to speak, use their headlights to see, and curl their bumpers to smile would profit greatly under the new policy. “Our rivals are sending us talking cars that honk to flirt or use their radios to deliver sly zingers after they win a big race. Herbie the Love Bug is a Volkswagen Beetle. Let’s send him back to Germany where he belongs.” Trump added that he would also sign an executive order making the official language of talking cars English.

[adult swim] celebrates April Fools Day with Rick and Morty themed "Portal People" play.
For the past 21 years on the midnight of March 31st, the [adult swim] television channel has done something unexpected live on the air on April Fools. Starting in the early 2000s and continuing to this day, pranks have varied in terms of effort and scale. For instance, in 2021, they temporarily rebranded to a children's television channel called [adult swim junior] and had kids dub over the shows while bleeping out the swearing. This year they did something similarly high effort, teasing that season 8 of Rick and Morty would premiere that night. Instead, an entire live action play based off R&M called "Portal People" was aired. This was an incredibly elaborate full scale play that had many people involved, recreating and recontextualizing famous scenes from the cartoon in an absurdist yet entertaining fashion. After the play, they gave audiences a real preview of season 8, alongside a release date. The stunt was generally well received.

Deion Sanders signs contract extension at Colorado that pays him $10 million a year
Colorado coach Deion Sanders has received a contract extension through the 2029 season after turning around a downtrodden program in just two seasons.
The school said the extension increases Sanders’ yearly base salary to $10 million this year, making him the highest-paid football coach in the Big 12. The deal was reached with three years remaining on Sanders’ existing five-year, $29.5 million deal he signed when he was brought in from Jackson State.
“Coach Prime has revolutionized college football and in doing so, has restored CU football to our rightful place as a national power,” athletic director Rick George said in the statement announcing the extension. “This extension not only recognizes Coach’s incredible accomplishments transforming our program on and off the field, it keeps him in Boulder to compete for conference and national championships in the years to come.”
Sanders and the Buffaloes are coming off a 9-4 season in which they earned a spot in the Alamo Bowl.
