Because Dani was killed being in a crossfire when someone missed their shot. She also didn't want will to become the type of person that killed her and be better than revenge

She is interested to know what Will is going to do if he misses the shot because she is worried that Will accidentally will kill one child, like it happened to her when she was 8 years old.

you can tell that dani is worried but how will is acting but she does not want to say it

It's especially sad because Danny was killed because someone else missed their shot when trying to kill someone else. Those words bring a strong impact on Will because Will was aware of what missing your shot can do.

It’s poignant that Dani asked that question to Will because Buck already told him that getting revenge on the Dark Suns and Riggs isn’t a good idea; Dani is just rubbing that in deeper. Will is extremely confident that he knows who his brother’s murderer is and that he will finish him off successfully. However, Buck and Dani find that his plan isn’t for him and are trying to convince him so.

It’s impactful that Dani is the one to ask Will “What/ if/ you/ miss?”(142) because she died of gun violence. The fact she died so young and in such a heartbreaking way leads readers to become impacted by her question. Dani is also interested to know what Will will do if he misses his shot. Forcing him to think about the possibility that he could accidentally kill another child like Dani.

It is especially sad that Dani asked what if you miss because when Dani was killed, the person who shot her missed their target and accidentally shot and killed Dani.

It’s more impactful that Dani asked the question, because she was a good friend to Will. She was someone who understood him and was around the same age as him.

Will recalls his memory of Dani, as she was also killed by gun violence, so someone like her wishes that the gunshots that were directed at her missed. I feel that Dani is trying to tell Will to not do this, as she never understood revenge before her death

It is very poignant because Dani was Will’s childhood friend that got murdered. By her asking “What / if / you / miss?” it creates a sad/worried tone that Dani is worried and scared for how Will is acting and wants him to think twice about what he’s doing.

Why is it especially poignant (sad/moving/impactful) that Dani is the one to ask Will, “What / if / you / miss?” (142)
