because I drop poems, not bombs.
It sucks that she even has to say that or even explain things she dose or shows that shes a human just like everyone else

"I drop poems, not bombs"
1 lines that struck me were "I am a women of faith, a citizen not a suspect"
The line stuck to me because it was very sad to think that someone of a specific faith is being subjugated racists just for believing a different faith as them and having people in their country be criminals which is what their faith is associated with .
I carry a breaking heart within, I hold mics not guns-
"I drop poems, not bombs"
this line stood out to me because many people are judged off of their religion/culture and they think she is a terrorist.
I am a woman of faith, a citizen not a suspect. I carry a breaking heart within, I hold mics not guns –my story refuses to be told in bullets and word limits.
I know what loss smells like from a mile far, the way friends tell you they saw your house tear asunder. I chose this line because it shows she has experienced loss. steal a father from the dinner table –I can only hope mine hears me now. Maybe her loss is her father.
I carry a breaking heart within, I hold mics not guns –my story refuses to be told in bullets and word limits.
I, too yearn for peace, because i drop poems, not bombs
I don't celebrate the death of children, I don't wish to destroy homes and churches.
(Lord, make us whole again, all of us, make us human again,) this stuck out to me because she say to make all of us human again like were all not humans even though we are I think she believes that true humans are good and no one is truly good though in my opinion humans are good they are bad they are both.
'i drop poems not bombs'
I am as much of a human as you are; I brush my teeth, I sleep, I cry when hurt and bleed when injured, I walk the land you walk, I breathe the same air you breathe, your American dream is my dream, I am afraid of what you’re afraid of.
that seemed so deep and down to earth to me
16 springs I’ve witnessed, not one
was blooming, there,
These lines stood out to me because it highlights how long she was in america, and how much she disliked it.
¨I drop poems, not bombs¨
This stuck out to me because people will judge other people based on where they are from or how they look like. I like this because Sara is proving a point that many people misunderstand.
Trust me, I know what loss smells like: the way fear and revolution play tug of war on doorsteps, uproot loved ones from framed pictures on walls, steal a father from the dinner table –I can only hope mine hears me now.
