Resource optimisation is using strategies e.g. resource levelling and resource smoothing which benefit the project in going along with the timeline.

Optimisation Strategies is the decision picked to result in an effective outcome with the resources available within the timeline.

Scheduling is the forecast of the timeline for the list of activities essential within the WBS.

Tallulah Norris

Resource optimisation is a strategy using resource levelling or smoothing and allows for the optimal amount of resources to be used on the projects

Scheduling is the planning of activities on a timeline, highlighting any milestones, the duration and the order of activities.

Optimfsational strategies are used to optimise the projects parameters for the maximisation of the activities within a project

Resource optimisation- optimally using resources of the 4 areas

scheduling-- the process of setting out the tasks that need to be broken down

optimisation strategies- these are strategies that increase the optimal use of the resources such as resource levelling and resource smoothing which will use the float and in the case of resource levelling change the critical path-Dominic

Ollie Robertson

Resource optimisation is the process of allocating and managing resources in the most efficient way possible. The purpose of resource optimisation is to maximize productivity by reducing the costs of labour and other expenses. Resource optimisation techniques can also help you improve performance and meet customer requirements better.

Resource Optimisation is the use of effective strategies such as resource levelling and smoothing based on constraints to allow the project to go to schedule

Optimisation Strategies is strategies that can be used to allow the task to be completed as efficient as possible

Scheduling is a forecast of the timeline of activities that need to take place within the project (from WBS)

Jake Symonds

1. resource optimisation is managing the 4 areas of resource to be most efficient

2. optimisation techniques, resource levelling increases the time on the schedule as tasks are done when resourcres are available where as smoothing is when there is a time constraint and ....

3. scheduling is planning how the tasks are too take place affected by ther type and amount of material available

Katherine:

Resource optimisation: Set of processes and methods to match the available resources to tasks (in WBS) needed to achieve establish goals.

Scheduling: Creating a plan for the tasks that need completing and when they should start and end. Lines up with WBS.

Optimisation strategies: Techniques such as resource smoothing and resource levelling that are used to make the most of available resources.

Resource Optimisation:

Managing the four areas of resources to be the most efficient. This can be done through resource levelling and resource smoothing.

Jude McM

Resource optimisation - Making sure that labour and non labour resources are meeting the schedules. It is also important to use resource smoothening and levelling to optimise available resources when you are stretched for time and resources.

Resource scheduling - making sure you have a set timeline for your resources and are aware of when each resource is needed at what point on the timeline relating to the tasks. This can be illustrated with a resource histogram.

Digby & Benjamin

1 - Resource optimisation is managing the 4 areas of resources to be most efficient

2 - Optimisation techniques:

Resource levelling and resource smoothing. Levelling takes place when resources are limited, it delays activities to reduce the number of resources required at any given time. Smoothing takes place when the project is time constrained, it takes advantage of float or increases the no. of resources to reduce peaks and troughs.

3 - Scheduling planning is the forecast of key data such as activity start and finish, while highlighting key milestone and deliverable activities.

Resource Optimisation is the process of making sure that labour and non-labour resources are inline with those in the schedules.

Optimisation Strategies are the scenarios used to make the best outcome available with the resource level given to the project within its schedule.

Scheduling is the process of creating a plan which delegates resources, cost and quality effectively throughout a project whilst complying to time constraints and a structured order

Ben Bessey

Resource Optimisation:

the process of aligning resources to the schedule in the presence of constraint/s

Resource levelling:

levelling out the resources in accordance with a restriction on the level of resources at any one given time. the end date can be altered

Resource Smoothing:

it is the process of evening out the resources while keeping a fixed end date. Does not alter the critical path. Resourcing can be increased or decreased

Scheduling:

the process of using a set of tasks from a wbs then estimating the time needed for those and putting them in logical and sequential order.

Matthew:

1. Resource optimisation, allocating resources in the most efficient/effective way possible which matches to the schedule or resource constraints.

2. Optimisation strategies, Smoothing: used when there is a time constraint. Levelling: resolves overallocation, allowing the schedule to be lengthened.

3. Scheduling: planning how tasks are to be done by organising and structuring time to efficiently assign resources.

Theo & Joe:

Resource Optimisation- The process of making sure that labour and non-labour resources are inline with those in the schedules.

Optimisation Strategies- Is the scenario used to make the best outcome available with the resource level given to the project within its schedule.

Scheduling- Is the process of creating a plan which delegates resources, cost and quality effectively throughout a project whilst complying to time constraints and a structured order.

Elliot Cooper

resource optimisation - levelling and/or smoothing to fit within project constraints. allocating the correct level of resources to each task.

scheduling - breakdown of tasks required and in a workable/appropriate timeline.

optimisation strategies - delaying start dates of tasks, split tasks or extending the duration of tasks.

Chanel:

Resource optimisation = making sure resources are assigned to a project efficiently to ensure there is no over allocation of resources.

Optimisation strategies =

- resource levelling = used when there is a resource constraint.

- resource smoothing = used when there is a time constraint.

Scheduling = involves tasks (wbs/work packages) which derives from the PBS and then resources and costs are associated to those tasks.

Ben G

Resource optimisation is the act of accruing the correct amount of resources for each of the tasks that are required for a project, not hiring or obtaining too many or too little. This allows for the project to be completed accurately to the time and budget.

Resource optimisation strategies can be achieved through resource levelling or smoothing depending on the constraints the deliverable or the project has, and this allows for the best, most efficient use of resources.

Scheduling is forecasting the timeline for the project, primarily when the phase gates are, when deliverables need to be finished by and activities required. These are usually taken from the Work Breakdown Structure

Luke

Resource optimisation= resource Smoothing which is based on time constraint and there is resourceleveling which is based on a constraint of resources

Optimisation strategies are done to cut unneeded tasks and streamline the projects.

Scheduling is making a plan for the tasks that need to be done, when they should start and end. It should also include milestones and contain the chain in which tasks must be completed

Beth:

Resource Optimisation includes using resources levelling or resource smoothing depending on time or resource constraints.

Optimisation strategies allow for the best possible use of resources based on the time available and resources available within the schedule.

Scheduling is the forecast of the timeline for a set group of activities needed, usually taken from a Work Breakdown Structure.
