Will/Wrap-up/What next?/Way forward
How you will achieve the goal
Example questions:
What is happening right now?
How far are you from your ideal situation?
kev 2 - As a guideline some suggestions/questions could take the form of;
• What could you have done?
• What ideas do you have?
• What actions have worked for you in the past?
• Who could help you to achieve your goals?
• What information do you need and how could you acquire it?
Kev 1 - Opportunity – gives us the options to examine and overcome any currently identified issues preventing progress of the topic (topic decided at the start of the GROW cycle).
This should always include suggestions from the mentee and going on from this point the mentor should always consider carefully he mentee’s viewpoints and position.
Focus on moving forward, not on what has happened in the past.
Goal
The goal is the end point.
What do you want to achieve by the end of the session?
Goals need to be smart - specific, Measurable, Accurate, Realistic, Timely
The goal needs to be positive and challenging, but at the same time achievable
Focus on where the mentee is going instead of obstacles.
When its been determined where the mentee is at, advice/feedback is given on the current situation and obstacles that need to be overcome.
A discussion is had to determine where the mentee is up to.
