4. At end of a day a quiz is a bit like an exam. Only measure learning at that time (snapshot), can be intimidated. Some quizes are competetive and can cause anxiety.

Task 5

1. Method - Lecture

 

2. In a university, or with a large group, or when 'explaining (delivering)' content.

 

3. Strengths - Easy to control timing, can cater for a bigger audience, Confident content is correct.

 

4. Weakness - , people fall asleep, non interaction, questions very hard in a large group.

 

5. Limitiations - No student exploration, Set delivery unable / hard to alter due to set up, time, pre determined content. No contextualisation or actual evidence in action.

Group Project

 

2. All settings. Especially Higher Education.

 

3. Strengths - Collaborative, communication, critical thinking. Allows learning to be constructed and devloped over time, student lead, owned by group/participants.

 

4. Weakness - Some of group may not be as involved. Content not controlled by tutor. Time consuming.

 

5. Limitiations - Group size and dynamics, time.

3. Allows someone to see the process in action. Knowledge of person delivering would be complete. Engages students/ show not tell. Supports visual 'learning styles'.

 

4. No 'hands on' experience. Having it done to them. Experiment could go wrong. No room for repetition meaning a learner may miss out on vital information. Picking up on bad habits of the trainer.

 

5. Time. Health and safety. Amount of learners. Amount of materials used/ costs. Consider learners needs/

 One-2-one learning/ training.

 

2. Workplace/ college/ school.

 

3. Dedicated training to one person can be effective. Taylor training to said person. Get feedback from the person. Easy to control the session/ what is learnt.

 

4. Time scale to implement. Blinkered- no other student to bring in other ideas/ lacks dynamics. Pressured/ intimidating- high expectations/ no peer support.

 

5. Availability/ cost

4. Learner may feel intimidated/ nervous/ shy/ embarrassed may hamper they performance. May not truly reflect them/ unfair representation. Time restrictions.

 

5. Time. Ability to make it appear 'real'- scripted from both sides: real life wouldn't be so scripted. Assessment could prove difficult. Not going according to plan/ lack of understanding of context/ inability to relate to certain criteria.

2. Smaller group of people/ team/ class/ break up a larger class.

 

3. Collaboration/ sharing ideas. Learning from peers. Everyone more relaxed and people may be more confident giving ideas. Less pressure to 'get it right'. group off similar people to facilitate more understanding.

 

4. More dominant members/ shy members. Internet issues. Someone may feel bullied/picked on. Too personal.

 

5. Not have the same information/ level of learning. No one to advance the session.
