Scientific:
They communicate by touch, sight, smell, and sound; elephants use infrasound, and seismic communication over long distances.
They appear to have self-awareness, and appear to show empathy for dying and dead family members.
An elephant uses mud as a sunscreen, protecting its skin from ultraviolet light.
Without regular mud baths to protect it from burning, insect bites and moisture loss, an elephant's skin suffers serious damage.
Funny:
When they want to date each other, a male will touch the female’s trunk. If female touches back, it is a sign of agreement. :)
