Bullying is aggressive behavior that is intentional and involves an imbalance of power or strength. It is a repeated behavior and can be physical, verbal, or relational .Schools and classrooms must offer students a safe learning environment. Teachers and coaches need to explicitly remind students that bullying is not accepted in school and such behaviors will have consequences. - Betül Akkaya

As a teacher, you should find ways to help children understand and appreciate their identity as well as others. This requires knowledge of empathy and kindness.

Let your students know how people are affected by bullying.

Teachers should observe students out of clasrsrooms as well as inside.

It's also important to identify 'gateway behaviors'. Small behaviors between students such as, eye rolling, name-calling, prolonged staring etc. can often signal the beginning patterns of bullying.

Also teachers should let know both parents of the student getting bullied and the parents of the bully about the situation and work hand in hand with them. School counselor should also be included in the issue.

In order to prevent bullying, teachers must be aware of their students. In elementary school, you can't stop the bullying and violence because the kids are unaware of their actions. In middle school and what comes after that are stoppable by punishment system and reward system for their behavior in class/school. -Ömer Köleoğlu, Berk Güler, Elif Akçin
