My father used to wear many things like tesilky, manchestráky or trenírky. Boots he used to wear were mostly tenisky or sometimes cvičky. Also he used to wear pumpky, šusťáky and a flannel shirt.

My mum told me that she used to wear normal things like jeans Tshirts and dresses but not skirts. When I asked her about more specific things she said that she doesnt remember and that she thinks that she didnt wear anything special.

Hi! How are you?

                               Old fashion

When I asked my parents, what was the most fashionable thing, the clear answer was afro hairstyle, baggy trousers and shirt. Once my mum even said that this type of hair was combed only once in two days, so it was practical. On the contrary, my dad had long straight hair which had to be combed several times a day. When my grandparents were children, the most fashionable things were: short hair, dresses for girls and tight shorts for boys. And now? I think, that now, it is Vans shoes, Calvin Klein jeans and Nike T-shirt. My sister loves to wear Nike shoes with jeans and T-shirt. The baggy trousers really isn’t fashionable. The time has changed. Today’s fashion is more about brand and comfort. So I think that fashion at that times were really different.

I asked my mom what she used to wear when she was younger. As a kid (age 10-12) she wore vibrant coloured trainers, jackets from synthetic materials, bleached jeans with creased look and leggins. When she was my age, she mostly liked to wear knitted linen blouses with bell-bottoms and wooden accesories such as necklaces or bracelets. At around age of 20, she enjoyed wearing beads. (mom couldn´t really remember anything else specific)

In the 60s women were wearing short hair, short dresses or short skirt and hight-heel shoes, significant make-up of eyes.

The favourite clothes were the thousers – bell bottoms, turtleneck – jumper, long coat and T-shirt. The clothes were colorfull and from synthetic material.

Fashion of Czechia in late 80´s

Hello, today I will describe fashion of the late of the Czech Republic in 80´, when my mum was just a teenager. There weren´t many options of choosing clothes because there was communism, so a lot of sortiments, that were most importantly from west (America) weren´t in stock. At the time in Czech there were popular fungaled jeans, neon colours, blouses with bats sleeves, animal patterns. Also if you wanted to be modern back at the time, you should wear curly hair. If you were at school that time and you had a PE lesson, you must wear a special practise shoes, in Czech called „cvičky“, also boys have been wearing red shorts nad girls have been wearing blue short. If you would take these colours, you should notice, that these are the same colours as Czech flag.

fashion in the nineteenth century

In the times of romanticism the women's fashion was mainly about fantasy, nature and freedom. One of the main aspect of fashion back then was spread of skirts around the world. Skirts had usually floral or checkered pattern. With skirts also bodice became very popular. At that time, women began to wear corsets again, even though they knew it was not healthy. In the men's fashion there weren't many changes. The most common piece of clothes is still the tailcoat. They were usually black, but as I wrote earlier, big part of romanticism was about nature, so in the fashion was also colors resembling the colors of flowers. Also every true gentleman had to have top hat.

My dad wore flannels and a short khaki military jacket.
