MY FAVORITE FESTIVAL

My favorite festival is my family's custom called "Santiago" in Huancavelica it is celebrated in the month of July, putting ribbons on the animals' ears, sweets around the neck and dancing huayno.

My favorite festival is “Holy Week”.

In Perú “Holy week” is sometimes celebrated in April or March of each year. In this year, “holy week” was on April 14th and 15th. “Holy week” begins on Palm Sunday and ends on Resurrection Sunday. On those days, I prefer to go to church in the morning.

My sisters and I don´t eat meet, only eat fish and cereals. Its our custom and also it is a custom in Perú.

On “Saturday of Glory” my sisters and I travel to San Pedro de Coayllo. That´s south of Lima.

In the morning, we have breadfast : coffee with bread with pork rinds.

Then, we go to the river and to the farm. There is a lot of fruit: pacay, peaches and apples. I love pacay fruit.

In the afternoon, we have luch: mancha pecho, carapulcra and red spaghetti.

Then, we play volleyball with our cousins.

At night, we eat various desserts: picarones, mazamorra y colado.

I like the "Carnaval Huaylino", for the city it is a very important and fun festival.

People go through the streets dancing to the sound of the orchestra, they paint their faces with talcum powder, they put colored streamers around their necks.

Then, they go to the house of the one who celebrates the party. In the middle of the patio or the street they plant a leafy tree and dress it with blankets, fruits, baskets, sinks, handkerchiefs, balloons, streamers, etc.

They dance around the tree, cutting it down with the ax until it falls.

The assistants collect the objects from the tree as if it were a piñata and take the objects and fruits with them. And they keep dancing for hours.

My favorite holiday is Christmas. I like it because it is a moment in which you spend whit your family and remember past things with nostalgia. I also like it because it is a time to share, you eat well and you think a lot about the future.

My favorite festival is the Anniversary of Arequipa on august 15. The tourism arrive the city in this date because is the most important event around the country. Every year people celebrated and they meet in the main square. In the moorning they enjoy a diferent activities for commemoration where they try the local food rocoto relleno, escabeche, malaya, ocopa, chupe de camarones and others. Also they buy a souvenirs. Afther, in the afternoon everyone waiting for “corso Arequipeño”, this is amazing for me. Finally in the night people enjoy a fantastic concert.

My favorite festival is the "Inti Raymi", it is commemorated on June 24 of each year in Cusco, formerly they celebrated 15 days, they made sacrifices, they presented dances to worship the "Apu Inti", the last celebration in presence of the Inca emperor was in 1535.

Currently it is a theatrical performance, thousands of Peruvians and foreigners attend this great festival.

Every year in Perú, we have Cinema Festival Iberoamericano. The Festival is on August. Diferents films are proyect in salas. The directors are youngs and they are celebrate theirs proyections.

Every weekend, I go to Festival and I go to bed very late.

The people go to the cinema and take a ticket for internet.
