Measures taken:

1. the narrator and his wife bought seasonal fruits ...expensive..to arouse Npongo's interest in food

2. he bought a watermelon

3.given disprin and made him drink milk

3. gave fruits of various types which Npongo rejected

4. watermelon slice was offered.. aroused interest in food once again

5.he was distracted with a slice of melon and they managed to inject medicine

6. he started to show improvement

Signs of illness:

1. diarrhoea, looked off colour

2. stopped eating food or drinking milk

3.lost weight

4.face seemed to shrink

5.blood diarrhoea

6. became melancholy

7. no antibiotics could be given
