I recognize the role that diplomacy plays both on the larger world stage (between countries and leaders) and in more private arenas (work and family). As a citizen of two countries (America and Israel), I also have a unique perspective on the differences in how this skill is utilized internationally and culturally. The whole field of how individuals interact with one another is fascinating to me.
When I was a student, I participated in debate clubs and Model UN groups and now I have the privilege of running an MUN group at my school. I've also completed the training for Conflict Resolution and am presently teaching 11th Graders at our school (Misgav Campus). I already know a lot about Diplomacy, but I'm taking this course in order to be able to teach the other element of the major as our program steadily grows.
I understand the larger picture of the Diplomacy Major, but I'm curious to learn about this particular part of the program. I also want to learn how photojournalism, storytelling, and other elements fit into the overall system. When I presented this major last year to our 9th Gr. classes, I emphasized that this program will help them develop social and professional skills that they will be able to use throughout their lives in a multitude of situations - regardless of where their lives may lead them. I firmly believe this and I'm excited to learn the actual mechanics of the lessons in order to provide these skills to our students.
